Dinah: Waxing
Elliott batTzedek
My brothers are like suns,
twelve of them,
their light intruding everywhere, leaving
no shade, no places for dark secrets.
And I am only the moon.
When they are out you will not see me
at all, or at most pale shadow. But the night
is mine.
Now I am only
the smallest crescent
but one day, when I am full, my
radiance will turn all of the land
cool silver
illuminating
every path
that leads away.
